Confused by drs

In September I found a lump in my breast to cut a long story short I was referred to the breast clinic the lump was a cyst but behind it was a mass so I had a biopsy. Results came back no cancer relief but they wanted me to have a vaccum biopsy. So yesterday I went for the vaccum biopsy I thought to take the mass out but when I got there I was told it was to take out as much as they could but also for samples as my previous biopsy was borderline. I was a bit shocked at hearing that as my consultant had previously said the biopsy was good. I was nervous about the vaccum biopsy so I didn't question it but I was also told there's a chance that if she didn't get it all with this vaccum biopsy that I may need further surgery under general. I was told that on the 11th there is a meeting where they will decide what to do I'm now worrying myself that more is wrong than what they told me. Has this happened to anyone else would love someone to put my mind at rest.

  • Hi rubysmum,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling, especially given the slightly conflicting information it sounds like you've received.

It sounds like you hopefully won't have too much longer to wait to get more details, although I appreciate any wait is difficult. Try to take things one step at a time, and one day at a time while you wait. It may help to keep busy to help keep your mind off things, if you can.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you find out more soon,
