Hi all, I turned 56 in May , have been going through menopause and hadn't had a period for nearly 11 months . I woke up one day and had all the old PMT symptoms ie really sore, heavy tender boobs , cramps and general "before a period" feelings . A few days later I started bleeding which lasted 5 days my normal old period length and my boobs went back to normal . I thought I would give my doctor a call for advice and she agreed with me it was a period infact she called it a hormonal bleed  but said to check it out anyway . I got the letter and went on Thursday. I knew I have a few small fibroids but the internal scan picked up a small polyp and my uterine lining was 13mm thick . They took me upstairs and I had the camera and biopsy done and they said the polyp was a fibroid polyp now I'm waiting . I haven't had any bleeding or spotting throughout the year apart from the hormonal bleed now I'm anxious waiting for the results . I cried afterwards and the nurse who was in with us said not to worry as they didn't seem overly concerned but I still am!
