Previous Ectropion - missed periods - pain

Hello,

About 6/7 months ago I was examined due to increased discharge/bleeding, the doc spotted what she thought was a cyst, blood and discolouration on my cervix. Colposcopy done (no biopsy taken) nitrate to cover what they said was ectropion and no mention of the discolouration. Apparently ectropion is common in people at puberty and on the pill of which I am neither. 6 months on I am due my smear (booked for a week on Friday), the bleeding has stopped but the heavy discharge has remained and I have just missed the last 2 periods consecutively (35 and tested not pregnant). I feel pelvic pain (similar to period pain) that sometimes also goes down my legs, that sort of heavy feeling pain. I guess I am concerned something is going on that was not caught at the colposcopy, I have never in my life missed periods other than when pregnant and always like clockwork. Has anyone experienced similar? I can imagine my smear may be painful due to the pelvic pain I am having.

  • Hi Summcld,

I'm sorry for the worry your symptoms are causing but your smear test isn't too far away now so do be sure to let your GP/nurse know what you've been experiencing when you go for your appointment so they can decide if it needs further investigation.

Hopefully some of our members who have experienced similar symptoms will be along soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime we're thinking of you and wishing you all the best for next Friday.

    Kind regards,
