Raised ca125 levels

Hi i posted on here over a year ago and still none the wiser, so august last year i was getting bloated, periods not regular went to doctors had bloods were slightlt raised at 40, then i had another blood test which it had gone up again but only slightly so had ultrasound and ct scan found nothing. Had another blood test in april and it had come back down to 41 so the doctor decided to leave it and review bloods in 6 months. I went Wednesday for bloods had a phone call to say gone up to 74 so now awaiting an urgent appointment for gynaecology.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and it been nothing. Im so worried im 37 with 3 children

  • Hello Lozza22,

I can understand why you are feeling a bit worried that they have gone up to 74 but try not to draw any conclusions from this - it won't be long now before you have your gynaecology appointment which will hopefully shed some light on what is causing these symptoms and raised CA125 levels.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have experienced this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Lozza, I’m currently going through something very similar, my levels are fluctuating but scans have been clear, have you ever found a cause? Hope you are doing ok xx

  • Hey JS0397, I noticed you were hoping to hear back from Lozza22. Unfortunately this discussion hasn't been active in a couple of years and Lozza hasn't been on the forum in a while either so there's a chance you may not find out what happened.

I'll have my fingers crossed that won't be the case but if you don't receive a reply then I hope the insight and advice you've received from some of our other members has been helpful during this anxious time.

We're thinking of you JS0397 and hope you're able to get some much needed peace of mind over this soon.

    Kind regards,
