My little boy is nearly 20 months. At his year health visitor appointment it was noted he was not putting on weight as he should be and was referred to the hospital. Fast forward 7 months and he is a totally different child. He not only didn't gain as he should but started to lose weight even though ne eats well. He sleeps sometimes up to 20 hours in a 24 hour period. He sweats a lot when asleep and falls over all the time when walking.
He had blood tests which found he is anaemic and has raised white blood cells. Yesterday he had more in depth bloods which I'm not entirely sure what they were. The consultant rang me today and said at this point she is looking for a malignancy. Im assuming due to the most recent blood results. She has booked him in for a brain MRI this coming Friday under general and she said it does not appear to be a blood cancer. I just wondered about people's experiences and whether there is still a chance at this point it isn't cancer? I did ask her this question and she said there's always a chance. Just wondered about other people's experiences.
