Good biopsy results face to face

I just wanted to share my story to give those in the same position I was in a bit of positivity.

I found a lump in my breast back in August and had experienced shooting pains. I finally went to the Drs in September expecting it to be nothing. They referred me to the breast clinic within 2 weeks and I had an ultrasound scan and a biopsy. One week later on the Friday, I had a phone call saying they had my results and want to see me on the Monday. I had the most awful weekend, I kept thinking the worst, looking at my boys and imagining the absolute worst. I was convinced that because they wanted to see me, it would be bad news.
I have just come back from my appointment and all is fine, biopsy clear, scan was clear and they just wanted to check me over. I have to go back in 6 weeks as he wants to double check all is fine.
I just wanted to share my story and let people know that a face to face appointment isn't necessarily bad news x

  • I can back this up. Not a biopsy, but a radioiodine scan to check for recurrance/spread of thyroid cancer.

They told me the consultant would phone with the results, then I got a letter asking me to come in for a consultation. I panicked, thinking the change surely meant something bad. Anyway, I rang her and she said everything was fine, it was completely clear, they were just starting to resume face-to-face appointments as coronavirus numbers were dropping at the time.

Glad to hear you also had good news.
