Hi, wondering if anyone can give me advice/reassurance as I'm going out of my mind with worry.
I'm a 37 year old female, had a baby 11 months ago. Last Monday I saw the nurse practitioner about a pea sized lump in my right breast areola, right next to the nipple. I guessed it is likely blocked milk or something from breastfeeding my child but I stopped 9 months ago so best to get it seen. Anyway, nurse checked and squeezed it and some milk/pus and blood came out of the montgomery?) gland and she told me she is pretty sure it's nothing. She then went on to do a physical examination and told me she can feel two small lumps in the same breast and made an urgent referral.
The app is next Monday and I've pretty much diagnosed myself with alsorts already! The strange thing is, I can't feel any lumps despite checking almost obsessively. I got my husband to aswell and he can't either. I'm tiny (bra size 32b), so it's not as though I have huge breasts and I would've thought if something was there we would feel something? My right breast is quite sensitive but other than that I've no other symptoms. I have experienced some pain in my back (same side) but that could be due to poor posture - I'm a horrible sloucher, and a huge sebaceous cyst on my back which has been a littlr sore recently. Could it be sat on a nerve?
Sorry for the rambling, one more week to go. It feels like a lifetime.
