Pelvic ultrasound for brown discharge and painful periods

I'm new to the forum, will try and keep my story brief but want to get all the details in.

Suffered with heavy periods, pain on my lower left side between periods for 6+ years, since stopping contraception. When TTC my daughter, endrometriosis was suggested, had a pelvic ultrasound that came back clear, then got pregnant. Fast forward 5 years and I have 2 children, ages 5 and 2. Since child #2 arrived I've had horrendous periods, and brown discharge for a week after my period. Still painful when not on my period, particularly on my left side. Almost like a pulled muscle. But for 5+ years. I put off going to my GP as I was still breastfeeding until my child was 2 and knew they'd just put it down to hormones from that. But since stopping breastfeeding I still have really bad periods with clots and very heavy, can't leave the house as I need a pad and tampon every 1-2 hours (only realised how bad it was after lockdown as WFH meant changing every hour didn't matter). I then have brown discharge for a week post period. Every month. Then I can feel ovulation pain, and ewcm so I'm ovulating, no pain for a week then pre-period pain starts and I start the whole cycle again.

I am on no contraction, tubes tied when I had my last child.

Phoned the GP for an appointment in June. Got a phone consultation in July. Blood tests and swabs were ordered but repeatedly canceled, had bloods in August and swabs 1st oct. Pelvic ultrasound was ordered in July too and I had this last week.

I wasn't really worried but a friend mentioned today that the ultrasound tech normally says "everything looks normal" which they have said to me before, I had a scan 18 months ago due to a polyp being discovered when I was pregnant, but that wasn't my experience this time. She was chatty when doing a normal ultrasound but very quiet when doing trans-vaginal, it was quite painful and she apologised a few times and said I just need to get all the measurements right. She then said I can phone the doctor's after a week for results. On Friday I missed a phone call from a witheld number and now I'm panicking that they saw something adverse on the scan.

I've also had swollen lymph nodes under my arms for a while off and on and a borderline high temp (37.5-38.5) for weeks.

Had some weird marks on my skin almost like a sepsis rash but only in one place on my arm and they've gone now, and am extremely tired all the time but hoping that's just busy life as a working mum of 2 young children.

Any other people's experiences appreciated.

  • Well, I had a pelvic ultrasound just over two years ago due to ongoing bleeding and they certainly didn't say anything to me about things looking normal. I had to return to my GP a week or so later to get that reassurance. Everything was normal though.

Of course, my symptoms were quite different from yours but just wanted to say that their being quiet doesn't necessarily mean anything. I was freaked out by that at the time too. They seemed very quiet and serious.
