Hello kellyrosie, 

I am so sorry to hear your dad has been very sick in the past few weeks and has developed jaundice. I can understand why you are feeling so worried about it and I hope that you will meet others on the forum who have had similar symptoms and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. 

It's good though that they have referred him for a scan and that they are treating this as a priority and it won't be long now before you find out more. I am keeping everything crossed that it turns out to be something else. The hardest thing in the meantime is the long wait you and your dad are currently facing. A couple of weeks' wait can feel like an eternity. 

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.
