Hyperplasia Atypica

Hi,

I'm 57 and I've been on Tamoxifen for just over two years to treat estrogen positive breast cancer.
I was advised to stop taking it for a few weeks to see if it was the cause of my terrible joint pain.

Two days after stopping, I started bleeding very heavily.

I was sent for an internal ultrasound and they found a polyp, took a biopsy straight away and it has come back with an abnormality with hyperplasia atypica.

I have been given an appointment for an MRI scan to check the rest of my uterus and pelvic area.

The bleeding has stopped and I have no other symptoms at all.

I'm so worried and think they might end up having to do a hysterectomy.

Before taking the Tamoxifen, I hadn't gone through the  menopause but obviously it put me straight into it.

So my question is, if I have a hysterectomy will I still get menopausal symptoms? Because I'm sure, by now, I've gone through it?

Has anyone else been in this situation?

I would be interested to hear anyone else's experience.

Thank you x
