Hi , i am going through the same at the moment 3 days ago i had a lump in my right breast ,painful to the touch and warm. I went to the doctors yesterday and he told me with no uncern terms that i have cancer , WOW what a blow still not come to terms with it , starting to spiral out of control ,I have heard this morning that i have been referred to a specialist but could take up to 2 weeks .

He cant tell whether it is cancer by just feeling it? What an irresponsible thing for him to say. I found my lump on Friday evening and saw the GP on Monday, he has given me an urgent referral to breast clinic but as the wait is 2 weeks I wanted to get info from others that have had the same thing. What does your lump feel like?

i recently attended the GP with pain in my right breast and upon examination they found a small pea sized lump that was moveable, this was quite deep in my breast as, though the GP found it (I remember her poking quite deep to find it), after attending the breast clinic the first nurse couldn't find my lump but sent me in to ultrasound who did see it straightaway and straightaway knew it was a simple cyst that they drained there and then.

From all I've read the positive signs are the rounded shape, smooth and mobile - everything crossed for you that yours turns out to be a cyst also.

just another tip - I got an appointment in just under two weeks but rang up a couple of times to see if any cancellations and one day there was one for that afternoon so I grabbed it with both hands and therefore got in in less than a week - if you're able to get quickly to an appointment at short notice it might be worth trying this too.

Round like half a satsuma , not hard like bone ,but firm with a slight squiggyness to it painful if pressed and slightly warm to the touch . when i look in the mirror i can see a slight pinkish colour . I can move it slightly from side to side and up and down . If i lie on my side i can see it better as it stands out more .

Thank you so much for responding. I have been trying to call them all morning to make sure they have received my referral but lines are busy. Will definitely keep calling to see about cacnellation - I want in ASAP!
