Getting my results today! So nervous

Morning all, so after a 3 week wait today is the day I find out the results of my biopsy and see if the large dent in the underneath of my breast is cancerous.

I managed to get a cancellation appointment as my consultant initially booked me in for 9th November but for my own sanity I couldn't wait a further 3 weeks to find out but the hospital have been great and very understanding.

The wait times for results seem to be increasing due to the amount of people now being seen so it's taking over 3 weeks now which we all know feels a lifetime.. but hang in there or speak with the hospital, it helped me.

Anyway fingers crossed for good news but I feel so nervous x

  • Morning Sassylil, well done for being pro-active, the wait is so hard. I'll be thinking of you today and here if you need to chat at all. Virtual hugs Mickey

  • All the best for today, my fingers are crossed for you x

  • Hi Sassylil, hope you're ok? I've been thinking of you  X

  • Hi Mickey,

Well it was as expected, I have a grade 2 nst cancer.. I have had my operation booked in for 25th November and having a lymph biopsy done but if all clear and they get it all out then I may not have to have chemo, just radiotherapy.... I'm doing ok as I'd already prepared myself, just another waiting game now!

Thank you so much for thinking of me and asking xx

  • Hi Sassylil, nst? Thanks for the reply and letting me know. Sorry I'm no good with acronyms (embarrassed face).  Are you happy with timescales for op? Do you have any other apts before, or is it op next now then? Sorry for questions, I'm still waiting for my full diagnosis and treatment plan and next consultant apt not til 3/11. Somehow knowing I have two cancers in that breast already and other results pending seems to be sending me thinking treatment will be worse then I'm even imagining. I dare say I'll then be like you waiting for op to see if lymph nodes were ok or not before they confirm chemo too as well.  Fingers crossed both our lymph nodes are clear xx

Meanwhile I'm glad you're doing ok, what a rollercoaster, like you say, it's a waiting game xx

  • Both try and do something nice for you .
    The waiting game is worse

I feel lucky I found out in within a week and operation booked for Monday

  • Hi Suran63, thank you, speaking for myself,  I intend to try and do something this weekend for sure.  Thank you for your kind words.
Have you made your decision about Monday then? I had no relevant experience to share with you, but I recognise it must be a really hard decision for you to make.
So, I say the same to you too, plan something nice this weekend - Monday will soon be here whatever you have or will decide.
    Virtual hugs Mickey x x

  • Hi Mickey, sorry nst is none special type, apparently its the most common breast cancer..

Don't apologise, ask away hun.. I'm a bit like you cause this is all so new to me. I'm ok with the op time frame because they said it could be sooner but 25th Nov is latest date.

I will go in for pre op on the monday before for tests and covid test then i have to isolate for the 3 days before the op. They said treatment will more than likely start in the new year.

Oh bless you no wonder you are worried, can't you see if they have any cancellations hun? I had to change consultant to be seen sooner but it worked out better as he was brilliant and much preferred him..

Give them a call, no harm in trying because the wait is worse, let me know xx

  •

    Hi Sassy,

I am so glad to hear that you managed to get a cancellation and now have your results. It does come as a shock, no matter how prepared you think that you are, so I'm glad to hear that you're doing ok. What type of surgery is planned? I am glad to see that it is all booked and, hope that it all goes well.

Please keep in touch and remember that we are always here for you as you travel your journey.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hey Sassylil, thanks for the reply, I knew I'd read about that type somewhere, but my poor brain is a bit overloaded currently. Thanks for explaining, seems to be mistitled to me if it's 'none special', but most common ........ I'm pleased your happy with the timescale for the op.
Thanks for your supportive words also, I'm in two minds now  whether to call again or just wait til 3/11. If they will not tell me treatment plan until I see the consultant on 3/11, I'm now wondering what does it really matter if the other wide area of concern is pre-cancer or cancer too. I know it's op and very likely mastectomy already with at least radiotherapy and if they find anything spread to lymph nodes, like you it could also mean chemo too - I'm not sure what difference it might make - perhaps I should just try to wait til 3/11 for face to face. Probably will feel different again tomorrow though - so up and down (embarrassed face) xx

Here if you need to chat anytime xx
