I had an ultrasound on a nodule on my thyroid today,he was saying he wasn't concerned about it but he's booked me in for a biopsy ,no symptoms ,now scared

That sounds positive. From what I've read, thyroid cancer is one of the better ones to get, if there's such a thing. Try not to worry - says the woman posting about her worries!

Booking you in for a biopsy doesn't mean he thinks cancer is likely, just that it can't be ruled out. From what I read when I was getting diagnosed, I think a very high proportion of people with thyroid nodules get sent for a biopsy. My impression is that it is a small minority that have cancer ruled out with the ultrasound alone. 

And yes, thyroid cancer is definitely among the "least bad" of cancers. Obviously, nobody would choose to have any form of cancer, but it doesn't usually mean ongoing treatment or anything.

Hey [@Webofghost]‍  - I had my ultrasound two weeks ago Thursday. They took three biopsies and the bruise is still with me, albeit turning a very autumnal yellow. I've had no results yet.

Ultrasound consultant was lovely, said he had a thyroid nodule too, but mine was slightly larger than his. Was providing lots of reassurance throughout, but decided to take a biopsy because "you're young, and I want to be sure what we're dealing with" 

It sounded like he drained some fluid, and since then, my lump has grown some more.

Hoping for results before Wednesday as we're going on holiday for a week for the first time in 2 years!

I think my big challenge is that nobody's been clear with me - I get told it's non-urgent, then get a call the next day with an appointment the following week. 

The consultant who did my biopsy said it was an urgent biopsy, so now I'm just a bit confused!

Ah yes i will do,glad you are feeling OK,not sure what the appointment is,a biopsy or a talk ,no idea really wish it was all over ! Hate waiting my anxiety is through the roof
