Thyroid thickening

Hi folks,

First time posting! In June, I noticed a lump on my thyroid. It appeared overnight and made swallowing really painful. I then lost my voice for a week - it's back now, but comes and goes intermittently. Saw my GP, who did my bloods (twice!) which were normal so has referred me to ENT.

Saw ENT last Thursday, and was told it wasn't a lump, it was thickening on one side of my thyroid. They checked my throat with a camera and said I needed a "non-urgent" ultrasound sometime in the next three months.

The next day, less than 24hrs since my appointment, I got a phone call and I have to get an ultrasound biopsy this week (Thursday) - a week after seeing the consultant.

I'm panicking a bit because it seems a bit more than non-urgent, nobody mentioned a biopsy and I've really not had much clarity. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on this are. Am I overthinking?

Cheers,

WCM
