Ovarian Cancer

I have struggled with ovarian pain for along time and bleeding while ovulating on and off every few months. I am overcome with pelvic pain when NOT on my period and it feels nothing like period cramps. I am 19 and terrified of it being cancer. My blood tests have come back with high platelet counts and critically low folic acid which is not brought on by diet. I have an ultra sound tomorrow and am terrified that it could be a cyst or even cancer. How do I stay strong? I know there is something wrong with my body and finally a doctor is listening to me so I want to grab every opportunity.

Thank you. You are all beautifully strong

  • Just wait for the ultrasound results..you'll get them back soon. I know it's worrying but the ultrasound will provide you with an answer. Until you get the results, try to keep busy. Have you had your iron levels checked out?

  • The results from my ultrasound came back clear but my platelet levels are quite high. I have extremely low folic acid which is as a result of my gut health not dietary as I had my diet analysed (and criticised a bit but hey ho XD). I now have to do more and more tests and I am still in really bad pelvic pain and am suffering from unchangeable bloating. It gets worse and worse and does not go down at all during the day. I am waking up with it and so it is not flare ups anymore.

  • Hi, I hope your doing well! I'm going through something similar to this and just wanted to see how you where getting on and what was the outcome x
