Anxious lady after advice

Hi all,

So I'm a very anxious person as it is and I'm currently waiting for a colosopy due to positive for HPV and borderline cell changes.

I've done the typical and googled....wish I hadn't, I've read that people have had this and at colosopy been told its actually worse. Has anyone experienced this??

I've not stopped bleeding for 12 weeks now (had to take tablets to stop me for smear) I am bleeding sometimes after sex and keep getting pain in my stomach (I can only assume roughly where my ovaries are).

People keep telling me it's due to the covid vaccine bit I've no idea I just know it's not normal.

And help or experiences shared would be gratefully recieved.

  • Hi Amy

It is possible that the colposcopy will identify more severe changes, but equally possible that these changes will just be borderline. Only the colposcopy will tell, so try not to worry too much at this stage. HPV causes these cell changes, but cell changes are not cancer and the abnormal cells can be removed if necessary. Please don’t use google-it will make your anxiety worse and what you read may not be at all relevant to you. I hope you don’t have to wait too long for your appointment to find out more.

  • Hi,

So after many more smears, lletz and cone biopsies it turns out I am CIN3 with no clear margins anywhere. I'm now booked in for a hysterectomy 1st Dec.

  • Hi Amy I have not gone through this myself but just wanted to send you a big hug and hope that your onward journey goes smoothly. Not the news you wanted to hear but hopefully you will get the support you need. we are always here

    lots of love
