Neck lump - reassurance?

Hi all, I guess I am after some opinions and hopefully reassurance.

I have a lump on my neck about the size of a pea and also a much smaller but feelable lump on the opposite side.

Had my bloods back they were all fine, and had my ultrasound done today on my neck, the doctor was SO quick he had looked at them within 1 minute and said 'yep they're all fine.' Just like that and couldn't get me out of the room quick enough.

I just feel like it was very quick and how can he be sure after barely looking? Would he definitly of picked something up if it were bad?

Thanks!

  • Hi Lyndsy,

Ultrasounds are very quick, I was only in for about 10 mins with my last one.I have been told a couple of times straight away that they see nothing of concern, but sometimes they don't say anything. It depends if your scan was done by a  technician or a radiologist/ sonographer. They do double check over the images before reporting on them, so I would still have a chat to your doctor if you are still worried. They do know what they are looking for, and to be honest I think they are happier to give you good news than not..
