Hi eveyone,
I've spent the last 3 days glued to this forum and I think I have read every thread relating to my concern.
I'm 35, recently married and no children. When I was 20 I was diagnosed with an FA- I think it was 1.6cm at the time and was told to leave it and come back if it grew. I went back to the clinic a few years later as it was still there and felt like a bit of a time waster, I was told again to leave it as its only slightly bigger. That was probably about 10 years ago. The lump is still there. I'm not sure if it's grown much, if so it's not significant. I now have a new much smaller (under 1cm) lump not too far from the old one, on outer quadrant of my left boob. The original is upper outer, closer to my armpit. It's hard and moves only a bit- not like the original which flies about. My breast is very lumpy generally in this area, and it feels like the new lump is embedded in there.
I saw the GP who said she thinks is benign but will refer me anyway on the 2WW.
I'm due to attend the clinic on Monday but cannot focus or function. I've barely moved for the last 3 days. I've been having sciatica type pain recently in my lower back and leg and now I'm so worried it's connected.
I tried to find any examples of a similar situation to mine in this forum and it feels like because of my age and the fact it's a new lump, it's not looking good. Has anyone been on a similar situation/ background with a positive outcome?
I know the only way to tell is to go to the clinic and do the tests. I wanted to know if they do find something, should I go private for treatment?
Ive been in a new job for just over a month. But I am covered for private medical. I chose to go through the NHS 2WW because the gp said it wasn't an emergency and it wouldn't make a huge difference.
My heart goes out to you all. Wishing you the best in treatment and recovery.
Nelly x
