Lump in groin that comes back | Feels plastic/shiny/burn

Hey all!

For the past few months I'd say now I've had a recurring lump come back in my groin. It's quite high up (underneath) in my groin, starts off small like a boil and eventually I end up sitting in a hot bath and lansing it as it rubs against my other leg and gets bigger and bigger. The skin almost feels plastic or like how a scar feels, shiny & tight. It feels like there's more than one but they're all sort of bubbling together.

I thought ingrown hairs but no matter how many times I've gone at it, it always comes back. When I try to get all the rubbish out, all that comes out is blood & a lot of it (probably because so close to the veins there).

there's no pus, water or anything like that (which is what I usually see if its ingrown hairs or a boil type spot).

Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be or how I can stop this recurring?

I know the GP will be my best bet but I've had a really traumatic medical history & it given the intimate nature I'd much rather try & deal with it myself if I can.

  • Hi Peach101 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the issues you're having with this lump but sadly, no-one here will be able to tell you what this is or how you can prevent it from coming back.

As mentioned in your post, your GP is the person you'll need to see about this as they will be able to give you the information and answers you're seeking.

I'm also sorry to hear about your past and can understand your reservations but if you let them know what's happened before they will do all they can to accommodate your needs and make you as comfortable as possible during a face to face appointment.

I do hope you're able to find out what this lump is soon and that it's no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,
