Lump found

Hello.

i'm not sure if anybody would be able to provide any reassurance or advice. I discovered a lump located in my neck. It's quite large in size and positioned around an inch above my collarbone and off centred of the middle of my throat. I have been to a doctor and are i am due to visit to a local hospital as part of Ear, Nose and Throat department. My understanding is that it's for a scan? But unsure what to expect from my visit or how quickly on average you can know if it's anything more severe.

I've had a persistent cough for quite some time (not coronavirus related) while having a hoarse voice after talking, find myself drained of energy, and sweating heavily every day. This is just some of the 'symptoms'. I live an active lifestyle and work a lot, with very little free time. has anybody had any similar experience or can provide any direction for what to expect in the months ahead? Thanks for reading.

  • Hi Fal6221,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. You may have some tests done by a specialist in order to find out more. It may be helpful to search this forum for other similar discussions, as you'll likely be able to find out some more information based on other people's experiences. If you have tests done, there will likely be a further wait for results. The time to wait will depend on things like the hospital's waiting lists, but you can discuss what to expect when you have your appointment.

I hope it's not too long for you to wait for your appointment and to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
