Hi, I'm hoping to get some help here. My mum, aged 70 had a lump removed years ago when I was younger (no cancer but yearly mamograms for ten years). A day ago she noticed her breast which had the lump removed from felt warm, not painful but just feels a warm sensation and very slight colour change by the nipple. She hasn't felt any lumps. She has been booked in to the 2ww breast clinic next week. I'm flying out on holiday with my husband and 3 kids in a few days time. I'm an only child and don't have any other family so my mum will be attending this appointment on her own. I am prepared to get a flight back straight away but it's a 7 hour flight. I don't know what to do. Will she be likely to receive her results back on the day? I just feel a bit useless. Part of me wants to not go away now but it's our first holiday in 2 years and I don't even know where I'd stand on getting a refund this short beforehand. I know she will be anxious on the day but she's very independent and always faces these things solo - it's just if she were to receive any devastating news on the day? Is that likely? I'm feeling at a loss and I'm not sure what to do.
