Feeling very anxious

Hello

This may seem really silly but I am absolutely terrified.  I was at the chiropodists a week ago and she casually asked 'how long have you had this mole on the sole of your foot'.  I wasn't aware I had one!  She took a picture on my phone and suggested I contacted GP.  I emailed the picture to my doctor that afternoon and she called me back within 15 minutes to say she wanted a dermatologist to look at it and would do an urgent referral.

The referral was done on Friday and the dermatology department called (NHS) and I have to go in next Tuesday.

I have now found swollen lymph nodes behind my knee on the same leg.

If anyone can give me any reassurance, I'd be grateful - not feeling very easy about the whole situation.

  • Hey,

I have also have a large 10x10 mole on the bottom of my foot, they are going to remove part of it to test it. They don't really like moles on the sole of the feet. However try not to worry until you have seen the dermatologist. A lot of the moles removed are not cancerous.

does anyone know how long the stitches will be in place and how long the procedure takes in total?

  • Thanks - I know, but still stressful!

I had Bowens disease on the same foot but on the top, the procedure to remove it took no more than 10 minutes, the stitches came out 10 days later.  Pretty painless to be honest, but not sure how sole of feet will be as obviously there is more pressure on that area.

Good luck with your removal and hopefully it's all fine - do you have a date for the biopsy?
