Hello. Just wondering if anyone can add some thoughts here.
I recently (end of Sep) woke up with a sore throat which was slowly accompanied by a croaky voice that lasted around 2/3 days. After that I seemed to suffer from a kind of postnasal drip sensation (I'm guessing) where the back of my throat/back of the nasal passage (I'm guessing) had a feeling of thickness that I had to grunt/snort/spit to eventually get out over and over (mostly spit-like for the most part but eventually yellow muck) This lasted around 4 days I think, but this made me think it was simply a cold.
But again recently I have had a slightly scratchy sensation at the back of my throat (feels like down the centre of the back of my throat) and my voice has again just recently been ever so slightly croaky. During this whole time I have had very slight earache/throbbing (around 2.5/10) but it's been very random and goes as quickly as it comes. My throat does tend to feel thick or achy at times, but again this seems to come and go.
No lumps or swollen glands etc...No temp.
Overall this problem has been going on for just over 2 weeks, on and off.
I have recently been to a walk-in where a doc checked my ears, throat, neck, temp etc...and said all was fine. But she did ask me about cancer in the family which freaked me out. She said give it another week and then go to my GP. I do suffer from anxiety and stress and I have been worrying about this nonstop. I admit I have probably also scared myself reading online (hard not to do). If this is a viral infection, is it true they can last some time? (more than 2 weeks?).
