I am new to this forum, but I could do with some advise/ reassurance. This is seriously upsetting me. I have had all kinds of symptoms/ blood tests, to-ing and fro-ing from GP's to hospital departments, with not a lot happening, I've been very tired, had back ache, rashes, lost 2 stone in weight over a few months without trying (thankfully stopped at this point), and also had a few dodgy kidney blood results (which they say are OK now). I ended up in rheumatology as they decided to go down a connective tissue disorder route. One of the tests they ended up doing was an MRI of my spine, which showed age related degeneration - but also a lesion in my gluteus maximus muscle (buttocks between you and me). They didn't give me the results until 6 weeks after the scan as they took the results to an MDT meeting. So I got my result in a letter that was sent to me and my GP, so very medically worded, they said I needed an ultrasound on the lesion - but they were expecting it to be a dermoid cyst and that would be it. 2 weeks after the letter came I had my ultrasound scan (8 weeks after the MRI). Again I had to wait for the results - 2 weeks after the ultrasound, another letter dated 2 days after my ultrasound was done, no phone calls or anything, now saying that I need to have an ultrasound guided biopsy as they are not sure if it is a cyst or a solid lesion, and that they don't think it has an extra blood supply. I rang the radiology department to get an idea when this might happen to be told (very curtly) that the radiologist hasn't looked at it yet? and that they had only had the referral a week . This lesion is under my skin and presses on my sciatic nerve I wake most nights in pain due to the pressure. Am I bad for wanting to someone to speak to me about this? I have so many questions and all I get is letters with little information and no follow up booked. I am very much under the impression that rheumatology have moved me to another department and I have no clue who is dealing with this now.
Sorry for the long rambling post!
