Swollen glands in neck

Hi

i recently posted in here about pain in my right breast and attending the GP who found a small lump, prior to my GP appointment and with the worry of what was causing my pain I felt my neck, chest and shoulders becoming tense and felt like glands in my neck were swollen. The GP checked this and said they weren't, but even if they were she felt this would be linked to me having had covid over a month prior.

I attended the breast clinic a week and a half ago and had an examination where no lumps could be felt and I was diagnosed with breast wall pain, but the ultrasound did find a cyst which they drained. The ultrasound only focussed on the part of my breast wheee the GP found a lump.

I initially obviously felt very relieved with this news but creeping up over time has been this feeling of being 'glandy' in my neck, with what feels like 'sirens' flaring in other parts of my body e.g. below my ankles bizarrely feeling hot. I'm not sure if this might be nerve pain or other glands flaring up, it also feels like it's at the tops of my arms and inner thighs. I just can't separate out anymore what is anxiety and what's real, and I know the answer is to go back to the GP, but I guess I just wanted to know if others have experienced anything similar and whether there is a less scary explanation than what's in my mind.

ps. The breast pain hasn't completely gone away either, though some armpit pain associated with this has.

  • Hello EmmaM1982

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health problems recently and that things have improved.

It's reassuring to hear that your recent visit to the breast clinic didn't raise any immediate concerns but I can understand why you're still feeling worried about things.

As you've mentioned, the next move would be to get back in touch with your GP to raise your concerns. They will be best placed to arrange any further tests or referrals that may be appropriate. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long to speak to your GP and they will be able to give you some reassurance about things.

I do hope that things settle for you soon.

    Best wishes,
