Hi everyone,
It's my first time posting here so i'm sorry if I sound a bit unfamiliar with anything at all! For reference, I'm a 29 year old female!
An uncle of mine (my mothers half brother) sadly passed away from lymphoma this year after an unchecked large lump on his neck during lockdown last year. I tend to get quite bad health anxiety so I started looking for anything like a lump in my neck. After a few weeks I noticed that on the right side of my neck (relatively far back) I had what felt like a pea sized lump quite deep inside my neck. I thought nothing of it at the time because it was very small and I had to really look for it. A few weeks later I decided to google what this could be and discovered it could be a swollen lymph node. I noticed that when I turned my neck I could see a small bump. But when I look forward I can't see it at all.
I tried to get an appointment at my GP for around six weeks but because of the delay with Covid I couldn't have a in-person appointment for awhile. I do tend to get a lot of throat infections and I do have psoriasis on my scalp and in my ear on the same side as the lump. I don't know whether any of this could be related but when I saw the doctor he felt the lump after doing a thorough inspection said it was only about 1 cm and it is a swollen lymph node but he would refer me for an ultrasound (about a 6 week wait). Because I'm quite anxious I'm very worried that this could be lymphoma as I do not currently have any infection symptoms. If anyone could give any advice or reassurance I would greatly appreciate it thank you in advance
