Concerned

I am a 21 year old female who has been suffering with irregular periods since around July 2021. I am having extremely heavy periods which can last anywhere from 7-9 days and i have to double up pads which need to be changed very often. The irregularities started which is now causing me to have these periods every 14 days. I am also spotting between periods and sometimes have clear discharge or pink discharge. I am suffering with pain in my pelvic region that is different to that of cramps when i am not on my period. I also feel physically exhausted all the time no matter how much sleep i get and i have no appetite at all and feel full after eating a small amount of food. Recently i have also started bloating if i eat 3 meals per day. I just feel generally unwell in my self constantly, which is probably related to the extreme fatigue and the fact that i suffer from chronic migraines. I was wondering if anyone could share similar stories and what this (if anything) turned out to be. I am currenly being assessed by my doctor but I am waiting for tests.

  • Hi [@Felici]‍

Sorry to hear what you are going through, although I can not help you to figure out what is going on with you, I am pleased that you are under the care of your Doctor and that they are helping you to get some tests done.

I also suffer with Chronic Migraines, fatigue and my sleep is appalling, so my understanding of what you are feeling and the effects all that has on your life is very clear.... and on reading your post and really felt for you, I am 47, so have at least had a life, being 21 you should not be worrying about your life and facing obstacles that stop you from enjoying yourself.

With how you are feeling, everything is going to feel more escalated and more forefront, I have got used to only eating one meal a day and maybe a small snack during the day, and most of what I do eat is quite bland, as the migraines can make you feel so nauseas and you just don't feel like eating (I started getting migraines when I was 11, they were episodic at that time, about 7 years ago they became chronic and I am under the care of a neurologist, I tried the daith piercing, I have had the Goni, botox and tried different tablets, I am now on the new drug that has in the last year come to market and my migraines have gone from 25days out of 30 days to about 15days out of 30 days, sometimes less, so even still having them, just extra days of relief is better than nothing at all!!!)

When you are in pain and know that everyday you face that, just one added thing makes you feel helpless, you just want it to stop, want answers, want help.. The waiting around for things to happen feels like an eternity, you have noticed something wrong, and you have made the steps to get help and have it looked into and that is going to play on your mind until you get an answer, I hope you get it soon, please don't scare yourself on google (I know easier said than done)

Others may have gone through what you are going through, but doesn't mean that they all had the same thing or the same reason for having it.

What tests are they planning to do and do you know when these are going to happen?

Feel free to message me if you want to chat or vent...

    Take Care x
