Follow up appointment made after hysteroscopy

Hello everyone,

I've recently had a hysteroscopy due to irregular bleeding and the consultant always put me on provera to try and re set my cycle, she said after the process that everything seemed fine but took a biopsy due to a white bubble she had found and not really knowing why I was bleeding so much, I'm 30 years old and a mother of 3

I've come home today to a letter saying that a follow up appointment has been made for 10 days time, i wasn't expecting this as she said she would write to me with the results and I'm now just slightly concerned. Had anyone else had a follow up been made for them and been told that everything's OK? My heads jumbled I don't know what too think, when I go see her it wouls have been nearly for weeks since the hysteroscopy but I understand labs are stretched at the moment woth covid

Thanks for reading

  • Welcome to the forum Bethanyj although I'm sorry for worry this follow up appointment is causing.

The way results are received can change for many reasons so if you can, try not to let your mind run away from you or jump to any worse case scenarios. Much easier said than done I know, but many of our members have been in this position so you're not alone and hopefully some of them will share their thoughts, experiences and advice with you soon.

If you'd like to discuss your situation with one of our nurses you can get in touch with them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m but in the meantime I hope the tips and advice given in this article on how to cope with waiting for news will help steady your nerves until you know more.

Fingers crossed everything will turn out o.k Bethanyj.

    All the best,

  • Hello,

    Did you get your results?

I had my hysteroscopy 2 weeks ago, the consultant said she would write to me. Today, I received a phone call asking to go in tomorrow. I can't as I have covid & she wouldn't tell me the results on the phone
