Hi,

About 6 weeks ago I started with severe bloating and left sided abdominal pain, feeling sick, unable to eat, everything I eat makes the pain worse, makes me so full from a few bites of food as if I've over indulged on a Christmas dinner!! 

This all started completely out of the blue.. at first I was managing to get on with daily activities but I've lost so much weight, from 9st 7lb to 8st.. I'm obviously under weight and it shows, bony provinces everywhere.. 

So far I've been told it could be ulcers at a&e as pain was really bad one night.. they ruled out kidney infection and did an scan of my kidneys. Ulcers then over ruled when I was referred to a gastro consultant as I also had blood in my stool (not noticeable to me) 

After referral, I have had a chest xray, gastroscopy and colonoscopy bloods and I've also been on lansoprazole and mebeverine for about 5 weeks, no change.

11 biopsys taken on gastroscopy, gastric bleeding found, biopsy has come back clear, consultant said could just be my stomach acids.

Colonoscopy found diverticular disease in my sigmoid colon..I have recently had more constipation than usual, need high fiber diet, which is hard as I have no diet.

Bloods and xray showed nothing...

I'm at a loss.

The consultant has said he will refer to dietician as could be ibs or my nerve endings not working properly, or it could be something in my bowel between the large and tip of small so sending me for barium these can take weeks and weeks to get an appointment and I feel like although there doing the tests my lifestyle has changed so much, with 2 kids and age 34 im usually quite active going out and having fun at the weekends with my girls and now in struggling to even make their tea. I'm trying to get on each day and I'm better if I eat nothing and just drink fluids, but as soon as I put food into my body I have all of above... this is everyday, no breaks, not a day that I've felt OK..  

So my question is... Has anyone had anything like this before? And what can they possibly find on a barium xray that they can't find on a colonscopy? And why didn't they send me for that instead...

Do I get a second opinion? Do I go private? What could they do that hasn't been done already?? 

I dont want there to be a problem, I just know something isn't right. From been able to eat what I want to having a few pieces of veg or fruit or a nibble of chicken in a whole day...
