Waiting biopsy for possible vulvar cancer

Seen my GP 3 weeks ago after months of itching and treating myself with over the counter thrush creams. She referred me to gynae who seen me yesterday and after examination told me I need a biopsy. I'm more worried about having the biopsy than anything

  • Missusah..try if you can just not pre- empting your clinic appointments..womens reproductive systems xan do some very weird & wonderful things...and sometimes we can worry ourselves into the ground unnecessarily and imagine that itch or that lump is cancerous..until.you have that actual diagnosis & know either way..PLEASE try & do something to take your mind off it & if you can maybe share your fears with a girlfriend & dont dwell on this alone.

I.too.have major health.problejs & am.worried that I.have a gynaecological.cancer..HOWEVER as a woman who.is already physically disabled I' ve learned to get things into  perspective.and  try and put off worrying until the day of appointments.Often tsituations are no where as bad as we think.& keep your chin up and I.wish you all the very best xxx peace Sophie

  • Good morning Sophie

thank you for taking time to reply to me. I'm of the mindset that 'what will be will be' and I'll deal with whatever the diagnosis is. Im just worried about having the biopsy as it's done with a local anaesthetic I've read horror stories about stitches and pain etc

I hope your appointment goes well and you get some good news re your worry about gynaecological cancer.

  • Hi, how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I have 2 lumps either side of my clitoris, and my doctor said they're cysts.

But I do have a gynae app tomorrow to check my cervix out as I have an ectropion and will be asking them about the 2 lumps.

I suffer with severe health anxiety. Whatever symptom I get I instantly think the worst!

I probably think it's just better to be on the safe side which is why they're getting a biopsy from you! Try not worry (harder said than done) vulvar cancer is extremely rare and could be just a bad infection maybe.

I had stitches after giving birth. Pour warm water down there while having a wee . It helps massively!

    Wish you all the best.
