Raised CA125 level, Endometriosis thickness and fluid

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has been in the same situation as me. I have rasied CA 125, so was sent for an ultrasound within a few days, which then was fast tracked to a gynaecologist. The gynae Dr did a colposcopy, and a pipelle biopsy. The Doctor said all looks ok to look at but I have fluid sac of 3.3mm behind my caesarean section scaring, and an endometrial thickness of 9.5mm. I have no idea what any of this means. It wasn't explained. Just got to wait for results.

I am already booked in for a further retest for vaginal ultrasound and blood test in 6 weeks time, and on the notes shes written possible referral to an oncologist.

I see many here have a thickness, but what about the fluid sac too?

Thank you in advance xx

  • Hello Elize

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health concerns at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious particularly as the findings weren't fully explained to you.

It sounds positive that the Dr at the time didn't feel there was anything of immediate concern so keep that in mind. It's good to hear that you have some follow-up tests booked as well and hopefully these will give the Gynaecologist more clear answers.

In the meantime, it may be worth getting in touch with your GP to discuss your questions about the scan results. they should have access to any reports and will be best placed to try and give you some answers and reassurance about things.

I hope you have some positive news soon.

    Best wishes,

  • It means you've got a thick uterus probably from a cezeran it will be scar tissue I would not worry till you speak more with g.p endometriosis is not cancer! And raised ca125 is common with endometriosis I actually have endometriosis myself but on this forum because my dad died of cancer the fluid sac could be an emdometrioma let them investigate
