A bit of back history about me around 18 months ago I had about 3 episodes of what I feel significant bleeding from the back passage, I went to my gp who didn't seem concerned ran a few courses of bloods and did a recital exam and found internal and external piles resembling a bunch of grapes according to the doctor which she said was causing the bleeding. Did a fit test and bloods which came back negative for bowel cancer abs ibd. I have had on and off ibs symptoms since 2015 and given I have two children I did not think that piles was unreasonable.
to be honest during those 18 months I did not notice anymore blood apart from the odd spot very occasionally, occasional ibs symptoms and bloating some tiredness but as a mum of two again not uncommon
fast forward to now however for the past 2 weeks I have had what I thought was an appendix type pain in my lower right side which ranges from feeling dull and throbbing to intense and squeezing, general cramping all over my stomach a feeling of not being able to open my bowels completely and like I still need to go, loose stools, excessive gas, very small rabbit like stools, zero appetite, one episode of bleeding on the tissue adter i wiped. What looked like blood in the stool on another occasion, Flu like symptoms nausea and dry heaving and tiredness,I have also lost over 6lbs in 2 weeks. I'm exhausted and terrified that I had bowel cancer which I did not follow up correctly and it's spread. My dad was diagnosed in 2018 so this is the main thing I think of when I look up my symptoms.
In the last two weeks I have been to A&E 4 times due to abdominal pain they've done 3 lots of bloods, urine dip test and an abdominal ultrasound, all of which came back clear and ruled out appendicitis gall stones and kidney stones m. My crp is normal and im not anemic. My gp has had me complete a second fit test which I am awaiting the results for. I have been booked for a colonoscopy on the two weeks pathway because of how distressed I was and also arranged a private consultation with a colorectal specialist. I would really appreciate any insight as to what your symptoms were if you have been diagnosed with bowel cancer or if you had anything similar that turned out to be nothing too serious
