Having been diagnosed with melanoma 6 years ago in my leg and requiring a node clearance I have just had my mammogram in a clinic. My mammogram was reported as clear. I then had a breast ultrasound where the radiologist said they could see an enlarged area of tissue and has suggested a biopsy. I am terrified.
I have a phobia about needles and don't think I can go through the anxiety and waiting.
A friend suggested I could use EMLA cream on my breast before they put in the anaesthetic - is this correct?
Inhave also been told I could have a wait for results.
I don't know what to do and can't stop crying.
