Had a CT scan and now freaked out looking at my MyCare page

Hi all. Sorry to post again.

I had a CT Scan on September 24th  and I'm still waiting for my results. I'm obviously extremelly stressed and anxious about them. I was reffered for the scan because I had a routine ultrasound scan that detected a heterogeneous pancreas.

I've just been looking over my  MyCare page online and I noticed that one of the Doctors has reffered me for a huge amount of addition tests ranging from a Cancer blood test, to liver tests, thyroid tests, to Coeliac Screening. In total there are ten in all and they are listed to be carried out "as directed".

I'm now competley freaked out. Obviously the Doctor put these tests into the system before I even had my CT scan but I'm now wondering if this is just a routine thing to do or has he spotted things on the ultrasound that either my GP missed or decided not to tell me about?

Thanks so much for any replies.

  • Hello Misk8786

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some health concerns at the moment. It's understandable that you're worried and unfortunately, it sounds as if having access to the requested tests has left you feeling even more anxious about things.

It does sound as if the Dr's are being thorough in trying to get a clear diagnosis for you but I'd suggest giving your GP or indeed the specialist's secretary a call to raise your concerns. I'm sure that they will be able to give you some clearer guidance about things.

I do hope that you have some answers and reassurance soon.

    Best wishes,
