Hello,
My son, who is three in a couple of weeks, has had a swollen lymph node behind his left ear since he was 1 and a half.
We had an ultrasound done on it this time last year where they confirmed that it was a swollen lymph node, we didn't know what it was up to that point, and that the characteristics of it meant it was nothing to worry about. It's pea sized to touch and in that time it hasn't grown or changed, but it also hasn't gone down at all.
I suffer from health anxiety, especially to do with my son, and despite having the scan and speaking to multiple GP's over the phone, every now and again when I check to see if it's still there I get a wave of panic and can't stop worrying about it again!
I guess I am just looking to see if anyone else had a similar experience, particularly in kids, where they have a lymph node that just never goes away but is ok? I've been told it may never go down and unless it changes it's nothing to worry about. But I don't understand why it wouldn't go down almost 2 years later?
He has no other symptoms whatsoever, and I know that I need to stop panicking about this, and I do for a while, but I just can't seem to let it go!
Thank you
