repeat Mri with contrast

Been having some investigations as to the pain in my nec/ ear. CT scan didn't show anything, went for MRI yesterday, they rang me back a few hours later asking me to go in for another today with contrast. I tried to ask why and they just gave me a really wishy washy response 

I am so anxious. Should I be worried? 

they have been so slow up until now so the rush was even more concerning

    Hello Barney12345 - a warm welcome to Cancer Chat! 

    I can understand why you are feeling anxious after being told you had to go for another scan. Try not to worry too much about the fact that they have added this extra scan today with contrast as there may be many reasons for this and it doesn't necessarily mean it is anything concerning. 

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

    Hi. In my experience you will be recalled if the scan images were not clear enough or if a possible abnormality is detected and they want to look at it in closer detail. It's natural to worry but try not to get ahead of yourself x
