My Heads Totally Gone....

This time last week all I had to worry about was getting the flu jab, my husband has been losing weight so our GP did some blood tests and also asked for poo tests, so last Friday morning our GP rang to tell us hubby's results were all clear, except he was still eneamic so he was referring him to the unexplained Anaemia dept?

Saturday we received a letter with referral details, Monday a phone call with a consult on the 5th, today a letter with an appointment for a CT scan Thorax Abdomen and pelvis with contrast this Sunday at 6pm??

I'm terrified for my hubby, trying to stay calm, but I see the worry in his face, the speed that this is happening just scares us to death, any advice or anyone else had this experience

  • Hi KatieJR,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be difficult and a bit of an unsettling situation. I'm sure the speed of it all must be causing worries, but at least it means you're not having to wait long for appointments and it should mean you get answers before too long.

Try not to assume anything at this point - any concerns or questions just make a note and discuss them with the specialist when you can. Hopefully it won't be long before you get the answers you need.

We're always here for support if you need it, and if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi there, try not to panic at the times and dates, many of us have had weekend appointments as they are using the facilities as much as they can, my last scan was for 11am Sunday morning and I only received the appointment on the Saturday, but all was well.  At least you're being seen swiftly and that's good news, many are waiting weeks for scans and appointments so you will have some results soon.  I hope all goes well for your husband.  Carol
