I have a CT scan tomorrow following an ultrasound that showed no problem with my ovaries other than a "small fibroid" and a "thin womb wall". Two blood tests a couple of months apart gave a reading of CA125 129 (the first - although subsequently a different GP tells me that reading was 108 !?) and the second last week, 68. Which is much better but still high as it ought to be less than 35 apparently. I am post-menopausal which doesn't help my belief that this could be a storm in a teacup. I had excrutiating pain back in November which is why the blood test was done. I now have intermittent very slight lower belly ache and occasional pricky bits of pain. However, I am now getting what is like a mini-period almost every day, and usually after excercise or/and in the late afternoon/evening. That is fairly new. I have posted elsewhere at length so won't go into further details here. They don't k now what the problem is yet and I fear I may go through more tests before they can pinpoint anything. I am also fearing surgery as even if it's not malignant, they will probably want to take out bits of me "in case" and I've never in my life had surgery. The gynae is also trying to get a hold of me and in her messages says "nothing to worry about" but without having had this scan, I can't imagine why she expects me not to be worrying myself sick!! I suspect your journey may be a different pne from mine, and I'm already past the gynae stage and onto the scans - but, I'll be thinking of you also tomorrow and hope that your appointment goes well. x
