Fast tracked

Hi, this is my first time ever posting anything like this so bare with me..

About 6 weeks ago I had a routine smear test, I was quite glad that I'd been called for it as I had noticed some changes down stairs.

I discussed these with the nurse and she said to wait for the results to come back and get in touch with my gp. The results I were told could take up to 12 weeks.

I didn't take her advice and I phoned the next working day, I received a telephone app and got seen by a doctor the next day.
my symptoms are, bleeding after sex ( I am now bleeding randomly too)

painful when having sex

i have lots of moles that have grown on the outer part of my vagina too.

also lower back pain.

The doctor did an internal examination and found what she thought to be a polyp, and sent me fast tracked to a gynaecologist.

the gynaecologist found no polyp, and was confused as to why I was sent there for that.

my results for my smear came back within a week and were normal.

but the gynaecologist found abnormal cells on my cervix, and took a biopsy.

my results came back after a week but I have been told that they were being discussed in a MDT meeting.

I am awaiting my letter from the gynaecologist as no one will tell me anything over the phone about my results or what's been found.

sorry, this is really long now.. but I am so so worried.

pushing up to almost 4 weeks now waiting for my biopsy results.

everyone keeps saying no news is good news but I'm still so worried.

thanks

  • Hello Mmzzy18,

Poor you - 4 weeks is a long time to have to wait for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you and I hope that you get some answers soon. It might be worth ringing the hospital again if you don't hear back from them in the next week or so.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
