New mole appeared, accidently peeled it off?!

Hi

So I had a new mole appear (not sure if it is actually new, I have TERRIBLE object permenance) on my arm and noticed it was kind of made up of 3 tiny little black dots as opposed to one solid dot. I have terrible anxiety and have managed to peel most of it off? I'm not sure if its even a mole, it didnt bleed, it did scabb over a little when I scratched it the first time so that might have been why it seems like I 'peeled' it off. I do have a slight indent in my arm now....I am a little worried its actually something sinister!! should moles peel off this easy? Should I speak to a GP in case??

  • Hi,

New moles can appear and disappear at any time up to our 40s, after that age they would be treated as more suspicious. I suggest you leave it for 2 weeks to see if it returns or the skin changes in any way, in which case you should speak to your GP. Meanwhile, a mole is a collection of skin cells on the surface of the skin and they contain too much pigment, hence they are darker. Please don't peel any mole off the skin as it could cause an infection in the top layer of skin. Any moles that you are worried about should be checked out by your GP.
