pelvic ultrasound due to some pain, worried

Hi, this is my first time posting here but I’m just really scared at the moment. I’ve just turned 21, and I went to the doctors about some pain in my left pelvic area. I’ve had it before, I distinctly remember a few times having the same pain but it only lasted a few days so I thought nothing of it. Recently the pain was worse and lasted much longer. I went for an appt in person where she did some checks and it was fine so has referred me for an ultrasound in a months time

I've had the pain radiate down my left leg and recently feel like it's on my right side too. I don't have any other symptoms, no bloating, no changes in bowel habits, although I had a few UTI's recently which is unusual for me. Despite this, I’m still terrified I have ovarian cancer or something. I suffer from health anxiety pretty badly, and the worry this is causing me is ridiculous. I know I have age on my side and the fact this dull ache is my only sort of symptom but I’m still terrified :(

Anyone had cysts or anything or similar symptoms that lead to another diagnosis? I don't really know what I’m asking but I’m just really scared at the moment :(

  • hi! i honestly don't think you have anything to worry about! i've had lots of pain problems w my pelvic area over the years and with periods too, there are so many much more likely reasons for your pain that are completely benign edit (the post cut off haha): pcos, endometriosis, adenomyosis are to name a few and like you said cysts are a thing too, i highly doubt you have anything malignant going on but obviously if it would ease your anxiety then i hope you can get some tests done!
