I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with a health concern at the moment. It sounds positive that the sonographer didn't feel there was any immediate cause for concern when you had your scan last week but I can understand why you're feeling anxious ahead of the appointment with your GP tomorrow. 

Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance about things. Do let us know how you get on.

thank you so much  for sharing your experience with me.   The GP rang this morning and advised the scan was clear but she would like to do a biopsy anyway to rule out any early changes to cells.  I was hoping to ask for a smear as i genuinely cannot remember that i had one last June as they keep saying i did and no record in my appointment diary etc that i was seeing the doctor....(im worried they updated wrong records!) but the GP said they dont like doing them earlier than the due date so i am just going to have to accept that I had one last Summer. 

She was very nice so I didnt say what i had planned to say about yesterday being given the runaround by the surgery telling me a doctor would call me then saying that the doctor on duty had assumed it was an appointment made by error as i was already being spoken to today.  in the meantime i had sat by the phone all day nervously and agitated. However when all is said and done am very grateful that the scan appears to show nothing sinister and fingers crossed the biopsy will be ok too.

this is truly such a supportive forum and reading other peoples experences does indeed reall help rather than Dr Google whose indicative symptoms seem to apply to pretty every disease out there.

Oh you're welcome, feel free to post whatever you like! I was googling stuff too and there's just too much information online whereas at least when you're talking to other people, it doesn't feel as overwhelming.

A biopsy is the most precise test- it will give a definitive answer. I'm getting my biopsy results in 6 weeks time. The ovarian cyst that was removed appears to be benign (from the ultrasound, MRI and even looking at in surgery as it was open surgery). The biopsy will confirm whether my cyst is benign or not. Your GP is very thorough to do a biopsy test. It's good news that your ultrasound scan came back clear- mine showed fibroids and a 10cm dermoid ovarian cyst on my right ovary. The fibroids are not a big issue but the cyst had to be removed. 

It's stressful though waiting for results- be kind to yourself. Your feelings are totally natural. I've had a few sleepless nights waiting for my surgery. I'm still in hospital recovering from surgery (only had surgery yesterday) but the recovery process is going well so far and fingers crossed that my biopsy confirms that it's benign. I can walk around the ward and my appetite is normal; both of which are good signs.

I know this is a old thread, but should I be worried?

I'm post menopausal, on hrt since Feb. GP sent me fir a scan on Thursday as my inflammation markers are up. I had a text to say make a telephone appointment within 4 weeks. This is positive right?  Am I panicking about nothing?
