Thickened Endometrium and Looks ‘Vascular

Hi all,

Never thought I'd have to post here, but here we are.

For a few months, I've had very light, on off brown discharge around ovulation. Thought maybe my hormones were a bit out of whack, so called my GP who referred me immediately for an ultrasound.

I had this yesterday and the technician said that my endometrium was thickened and looked vascular (I am not sure what this means). She said that because I'd had the bleeding previously, she'd advise that I see a Gynaecologist.

The Dr then rang yesterday afternoon and advised that they've been quite vague with the report, but that he's going to fast track me to the Gynae as they'd mentioned that my lining was on the higher end of normal (I'm only 28 and due my period in three days, so not sure if this changes things). He also mentioned that they said my endometrium was uneven and looked 'bobbly'.

At this point, all I'm worried about is not being able to have children - has anyone else experienced similar at my age and can shed some light as to what they eventually found?

Thank you so much!

  • Hi CountryGirl810,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can imagine this must be unsettling - but it's good to hear you seem to be on the right track to getting answers fairly quickly.

It's hard to advise on your situation and what may be going on - although if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon. Hopefully too it won't be long to wait for your next appointment and the answers you need.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses at all, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
