Upper left side near armpit swollen & tender-breast cancer?

Hi nearly two weeks ago I noticed my left side near armpit quite tender and a little swollen. The skin around it was sensitive which made the side of my left breast sensitive too. It made me panic so I checked my breasts and armpit but couldn't feel any hard lumps. I do have like lumpy type of feeling next to armpit at front. Doctor saw me today and has done an urgent referral to breast clinic. My appointment is on Thursday and im really a related incase it's breast cancer. I lost my sister to breast cancer when she was only 29. So worried I have it and it's spread as for past month I have had left shoulder and arm pain. For past 5 days I've got a pain under my rib too. Has anyone experienced this?

    I'm getting myself so worked up as I'm linking all the different pains I've been feeling to cancer. It started with left shoulder pain for no reason a month  ago and then pain middle left side of back and under rib. Neck pain started a few days ago. I'm getting more and more stressed that this is all linked to breast cancer and it's spread. My right breast has always been a tiny bit bigger than left. But for past day I'm panicking as my left breast just seems to be more deflated (that's the side I have the swelling near my arm). I'm really worried

    Hello Mummyoftwo2021,

    I hope your appointment on Thursday goes ok and make sure you let your doctor know about all the the symptoms that are concerning you. You can read about urgent referrals here, which may offer some reassurance. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.
