Hello, I have had swolen lymph nodes in my neck for 3 weeks now they haven't got any bigger but they don't seem to be going down much.
My GP dosnt seem concerned at all but he let me get a blood test for peace of mind, I have had my blood test this morning so just waiting for the results. I guess I just wanted to talk to other people about it to see what I should be looking out for symptom wise, I had no clear cause for the swelling untill 2 days ago when I developed a really sore throat on one side. This could explain the swolen lymph nodes but I'm glad I got checked out still.
I haven't lost weight, I haven't had a cough, no pains or anything really. I just worried a little as a few friends of mine have had hodkins lymphoma and found swolen lymph nodes in the same areas as me (but there's where much larger) luckily they both beat it within a year.
I have read many posts on here and they are very reassuring as most stories like mine end up just being an infection, but I just don't really have any other reference than Google to look up symptoms, my friends just had a bad cough for a month then found the swolen glands in his neck. I can't really tell if mine have gone down slightly because I'm always poking them to check but they do feel slightly smaller this morning and they arnt hard or that enlarged, one is like a little pea but you have to really press to feel that then there is one above that is more oval it can move about under the skin when pressed and it feels really smooth. Neither are visible you have to press down to feel them.
I would really appreciate any answers to help me out
Thank you
