Just discovered I had a previous mamo and ultrasound nearly

Hi,

I had mamo ultrasound and biopsy done this week. Been panicking about it and had a vague memory of maybe having had one done when overseas just before returning to Uk end 2018. Appears to say Birads 3 probably benign - should have 6 month follow up. I never did as told GP I wanted a check and she just did and said seems fine. Then Covid happened and back in March mentioned to GP and she said probably ok.  Obviously kicking myself I didn't take the letter with me back then.

I'm thinking I'll call the clinic and pass copies to them- looking for some reassurance and also whether this is critical info for them.

  • Hello roselamilli,

It's encouraging that your results have come back benign, so try not to worry. If you wanted to give your clinic more information or if there are any changes to your symptoms you should get back in touch with them.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Anastasia,

the results were from Dec 2018. I haven't yet had results from last weeks biopsy. I guess I'm just really worried as I didn't realize that I should have been followed up here in UK at 6 month point. I was so sleep deprived and struggling with 2 year old and relocation plus divorce I didn't do more than go to the GP and request she check them and tell them I was told I should get regular mammograms. GP at time had a feel and told me it was my responsibility to keep checking. Wishing I'd taken the HOng Kong doctors letter and scan and my fear is now that if there was something nasty there it's had a long time to grow. I know nothing I can do now but handed in the letter and scans to my breast clinic today in case it is same lump and could be informative but nurse told me the surgeon I have been appointed won't see it till after their results meeting.

praying the results will show the lump is still benign but worried since ultra sounds doctor said lymph nodes were larger on lump side than other. She thought maybe due to covid vaccine but that seems unlikely since I had second jab in June.

can lymph nodes on one side be larger for reasons other than cancer?or is this unlikely?
