Left supraclavicular node in child

Back story. My 5 year old Child has two nodes behind her ears, one that has been there over a year and one for half a year. The doc said cyst and ENT says nodes. The larger one was scanned by US and said ok. But we still don’t have an answer on what it is the ENT said an US was not able to say if it was a cyst or node and is not a good test.

Then we found visible nodes in her groin we called up and were told she is slim and not overly large and not to worry.

She cut her lip last week Tuesday and she had to have stitches (dog and child collided playing ball) anyway she was given antibiotics for precaution no signs of infection.

She now has a node in her left supraclavicular area it’s I must say is between 0.5 and 1cm and google is saying the worst. Can a cut lip be the cause? I am annoyed as the doc has never listened to me when I say she has no appetite and even though she has grown she has not put weight on and be has lost .5kg.

Also they have never done a full node check.

We are going to ask for a referral on Monday urgently as we have only just found this node but given the history (to add she was also over exposed to radiation and awaiting a dicentric chromosom Assay by Public health England) you would think that this would be taken seriously. I am going out of my mind.

  • Hi Redbootz,

I can understand this must be unsettling and it's of course important that you get some answers. I see you are speaking to them again today, so I hope that is successful in leading you to finding out some information.

If you feel you're not getting anywhere with the doctor, you can always ask for a second opinion.

Meanwhile try to avoid Googling answers as the information can often be irrelevant and only tends to lead to further worry.

I hope you're able to find out more soon - wishing you all the best,
