Endometrial cancer - hopefully not again

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in Nov 19. After surviving 3 weeks on a ventilator with pneumonia  in Dec 19 and not being able to have my hysterectomy until Aug 20 because of COVID pandemic, I needed brachytherapy. I'm now nearly a year later and the exact symptoms that caused me to go to my gp in Oct 19 started a few days ago. I've now got to go back to my oncologist in a weeks time to be examined to see if the cancer has come back. Weirdly , I'm more stressed this time because the the first I was in a daze . Has anyone else has a similar experience and what was the outcome ?

  • Hello KB65

I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting on an appointment with the oncologist later this week following a return of your symptoms. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. I think most people who have already been through a cancer diagnosis will understand the emotions that come with facing a possible recurrence.

Hopefully, the Consultant will be able to give you some answers and reassurance about things at your appointment. But if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nruses ahead of that, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
