swollen nodes in neck but painless

I had tested positive for COVID-19 using lateral tests and on 22nd august , using lateral flow test, I tested negative. That was the same day I found the first lymph node.

My mum told me it was normal and not to worry , me being me , I went online and researched it. I thought it was okay considering i had just been ill with covid and the lymph node  was sometimes tender to touch.

however after few days it stopped being tender to touch and was now painless. On the 1st august , I had noticed two other swollen lymph nodes beneath the first swollen node. I'm not ill from what I know so I'm worried about those because they are painless but they do move around.

it's been 2 weeks and 3 days since the first swollen node appeared so I'm waiting until 3/4 weeks to go just in case they disappear during that time.

btw Im 17 female

  • Hello bvnnymimi and welcome to Cancer Chat,

If you are worried about these lymph nodes and find that they are not going away, get in touch with your doctor and mention that you've had these for a few weeks now. Your doctor will be in the best position to give you the reassurance you need. It's worth mentioning to your GP you tested positive to covid before you discovered this first lymph node.

Avoid the urge to look anything up online as this will only make you feel more confused and worried so if you feel you are anxious about this, do get in touch with your doctor.

I hope you find out more about it soon!

    Best wishes,
