2 Hard lumps under chin

So im a 19 year old male, i went to the doctors today and hes referred me to the ENT as i have swollen lymph nodes, however the ones im mainly concerned about are the ones on the bottom of my chin/top of my throat, they feel like 2 hard balls at either side of my throat, i dont have any symptoms really other than light headedness however im pretty sure thats due to the fact i have vitimin b12 deficiency. I do have headaches around my sinus area but no other symptoms of sinusitis. everythings ive read about hard lymph nodes just says i have cancer and im starting to get very worried about it. as far as the gp can see i dont have a sinus or ear infection so im really scared/worried about this!

  • Im 17 year old female , I had covid 2 weeks ago and when I tested negative for it , I noticed the lymph node on my neck below my jaw. It was kinda tender to touch but that went away after few days. I thought it was fine because I just had covid however, a week after I notice two more swollen lymph nodes that weren't painful but they are moveable.

im also very worried about them because I haven't had any infection apart from covid so I don't know why those lymph nodes appeared.

im going gp if it gets to the point where the first node hasn't gone away after 3/4 weeks

I understand your worry and hope that it's nothing bad !

  • Im not sure if what im feeling is my hyoid bone or not but im starting to think it is as my dads neck feels the same! i guess im just nervous and scared! im just really anxious as i found 2 hard "lumps" at the top of my throat and of course the first thing im gonna do is think its cancer but i would just love more insight if thats what it is! it feels like 2 round stone like lumps, both very hard, theyre not sore and i can only move them side to side, i think they move together which makes me think it is the hyoid bone but im really not sure! ️

  • Hey! im not a doctor obviously but from what ive seen online it can take about 3 weeks for your lymph nodes to go down after infection and sometimes they never return to normal size! ive had a swolen lymph node on the right side of my neck for i want to say 10 years and its never been an issue, but the best thing to do is go to the doctors! when you go back please let me know how it goes!
