Mass found referred for MRI

Hi,

will try and keep this short. Basically I have been having fertility treatment over the last 18 months so have had tonnes of transvaginal ultrasound scans.

I was recently diagnosed a missed miscarriage following my first round of IVF. Whilst having the scan the nurse said she could see a large mass in the centre of my uterine wall. 7.5cm I think she said it was and suggested I go back for a scan with a consultant.

I've been for a further scan today with a consultant who could see the mass but was unable to locate my right ovary due to it. She called in the head consultant who also looked and was unsure what it was. He has said he thinks the origin is ovary or Fallopian tube. Nothing else was said and have been referred for an urgent MRI scan.

I am now back at home worried to death that something is really wrong and just wondered if anyone have been through anything similar?

Thanks for reading

  • Hi Sophie,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling, and I know it's never easy waiting for further information and dealing with this kind of uncertainty.

Hopefully it won't be long to wait for your next appointment, and I hope you're able to find out more about this soon. Meanwhile if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
